He's dead Jim.

Here lies the Skill City blog. It's creator attempted to start a game company and nearly grasped it, but things were set against him and his dream now lies mashed to bits on the jagged rocks.

Good thing about dreams though... you only need to fall asleep to get a new one.

Sorry I just can't do this anymore.

I have tried to make time for it but I'm so over the video game thing I think I'm just gonna focus on something else for a while and let this blog die. My mind wanders to new and more attractive shores.

I'm sure I'll be back eventually. Until then, so long, and thanks for all the fish. Keep those indie games coming, you gotta start somewhere.

Good night moon.

But you know, I would really appreciate it if you'd publish some of your data. I have an idea of why SkillCity failed (excluding internal factors) and I want to verify my hypothesis. This is really important for me to understand if I'm going to have any success at it.

Thanks, Patrick

What data would like to see?

Keep it simple, I can punch my way through most SQL code but our database is large and normalized and I don't feel in the mood to do a lot of joins this evening. :)

Ah well, as they say in Blighty "shit happens", at least you gave it a shot (which is more than most do) and more credit to you.

Thanks Nathan for keeping us entertained with your exploits, if you ever do feel like wetting your whistle again give me a shout at techdojo AT gmail DOT com - I can always use a good gameplay designer to bounce ideas back and forth with.

I want to know what your monetization rates were. How many people played, how many payed? How often did people play and pay? At what ratio? Did you see clustering of one small hardcore paying a lot, or was it more evenly spread out?
